2012: YOU’VE BEEN WARNED (TO NOT TO WATCH THIS MOVIE)

I may sound mean, but the movie is a CRAP! (sorry.)  A waste of time.  I’m a science fiction movie fanatic!  From Star Wars classic to the most anticipated upcoming movie of the year 2010 God of War.  And I thought for a moment, was this just another CGI based movie? Maybe, that’s the real reason why I watched it. I must admit, I enjoyed all the destructions.  The CGI are great! Breathtaking. Mind-numbing! To the point that it looks like so unrealistic, ridiculous and untolerating torture! And the funny part is, why all Hollywood destructions/invasions movie just set in America?  (laugh out loud)  In the movie, they could just had highlighted short clips of different countries.  (pft!)

As I watched the movie,  I was puzzled what was the movie’s plot?  Well, ending the world for me is not an enough plot. (rolleyes)  And the character development kind of sucked.  Its past faced!  And I didn’t feel any emotions from the movie.  It’s all about the destructions!!!!.... Indeed I must say, its an HEARTLESS movie.

to my fred.. (part 3)

Your radiance is like the sun rise on my heart.
Your beauty is like the full moon in the night sky.
Your love flows through my veins like a river of lava red and furious as a fire
.

I love you so and your love has touched my heart and many places beyond.
You make me feel as though I can fly but before I take the dive
I need to let you know you have touched

my life,

my soul

and my heart.

Before this poem ends I am going to say the word....

I LOVE YOU!!!

in my world...

in my world nothing is impossible
it's the only place where i can fly and touch the clouds
reach the moon and stare at the stars

in my world nothing is big nor small
no one is strong nor weak

coz...

in my world i am free..

-----
sometimes boredom causes you to write senseless stuff.. lol! hahaha..
just feeling selfish today.
so i wrote this poem..

to my fred (part 2)

Your love is... an ocean,
Where sand meets the sea,
Waves of love rolling over me,

Your love is... the moon,
Shinning across the shimmering sea,
Deep, wide, strong, and calm.
Always there to carry me..

Your love is... my shelter,
My compass, my true north,
Where ever I go,
your love is guiding me forth,

So if ever our souls part to say goodbye,
Meet me there, where the sea meets the sky,

Your love will forever be with me,
Where the sands touch the sea,
Our love lives on,
Our love flows back out into all eternity.

PRESS FREEDOM MONUMENT

Pressed or Opressed?

I was amused by how beautiful the monument was. (WOW!) From what I have read from Sunstar, it was worth atleast 27 million bucks! (HOLY COW!) I wonder how did the local government spend on this one. never the less, I'm still amused from it! And well, 27 million bucks' a great bargain perhaps, knowing that a well know international scultpor made it-Eduardo Castrillo. Ring a bell? Well, if im not mistaken, he was responsible of the People Power Monument. Hail to the great Eduardo Castrillo!

While I was amused and standing at the front of the monument, two older men beside me where having a conversation about press freedom. The taller guy asserted, "Our country should have a free press." Well, as a young journalism studernt, I couldn't agree more. I could still remember how Ma'am Rach told us that the press is the "FOURTH ESTATE" which means that the role of the press in a democratic country like ours is to be our WATXHDOG-to try to present the truth.

The monument shows journalists reporting and holding on to a fallen colleague. Well, it only symbolizes how today's press are not independent from influences, which only shows that the press is losing its reason for existence. Well, restriction on the press in our country is absolutely well-known. Now, I wonder why did I took this course? LOL!

I think, this monument serves as a lesson. That our country is in need of many voices- Good Journalist. Because it is a fact that a good journalist plays a crucial role in helping to build this we so called democratic country of ours.

So, let us uphold Press Freedom! MAKIBAKA!!!

RADIO: Small Waves, Giant Change

Radio is the medium to transfer sounds or signals that carries information. It has been more than fifty years since people use these tools of medium to share information. Radio provides a view of evolution and a new perspective in using it as a communication tool for social change. Since the invention of the radio, began the evolution of human communication.

Radio as we commonly know as a medium for entertainment. What’s new and what’s hot in the music scene. I usually listen to FM stations every weekends for leisure. But radio isn’t about entertaining but it also plays a very important medium for some communities. It has become their watchdog. Their eyes against replicated government. Their shield. Their voice. Because of radio, now people can relay information that the communities needs. And it can educate against illiteracy for some people in the third world.

For instance, Bush Radio of Cape Town in South Africa played a very important role in the community. Because of peoples involvement and participatory, it became the foundation of their community. Concern in Health rate in Africa, as we all know is tremendous. Bush Radio helps educating people about AIDS\HIV. They have talk programs about Health, and even projects to cater for the youths. And crime in South Africa is also an issue to be tackled. Bush radio became the medium to settle few gang crimes. And a special program for the prisoners rehabilitations.

One more powerful instance that’s shows how radio changes life is how it change our country. The people power of Edsa revolution. People wouldn’t have the power and guts to go to edsa to revolt without the power of Radio. Radio affects life. And it became the medium to challenge the expression of government system in terms of policy and misuse of power.

Evolution began. People voice are now amplified. Yet Radio transmits small airwaves, it can change life. It can sweep a community just like a tsunami. It becomes the power of the people. Indeed, Radio of the people by the people for the people.

R.I.P. MICHAEL JACKSON (1958-2009)

I am utterly in shock and saddened by what have transpired today. We have lost the greatest to ever do it. If you're not somewhat strucked by this news then you either have no heart or you know nothing about music. He is the King of POP! wait, scratch that. He is MUSIC. period. The music that you all listen today, no matter what genre, whether it be pop, rock, rnb, hip hop, etc etc.. was influenced in one way or another by Michael Jackson. I grew up like millions of others listening to this man's music. I remember as a kid playing his songs over and over and trying to write down the lyrics so i could sing to it after. Who hasn't tried doing the moonwalk or grabbing the crotch screaming HEEHEE at the top of their lungs LOL. So many memories. but yeah, my heart goes out to the Jackson family. You will be missed but never forgotten. May you rest in peace.
